Abalone Pot Rice combines tender abalone with freshly cooked rice for a clean, delicate flavor. Light, nourishing, and aromatic, it’s a comforting dish that feels both traditional and refined.

1. Chop 1 abalone into small pieces similar in size to the rice - this will be cooked together with the rice.

2. Finely chop chives for topping and set aside.

3. In a pot, melt 1 tbsp butter and cook the garlic until fragrant. Add the chopped abalone and saute.

4. Add the rice and stir to coat evenly in the garlic butter.

5. Add water (same amount as the rice), tsuyu, and yeondu. Cover and cook on medium-low heat for 12-15 minutes.

6. While the rice cooks, pan-sear the remaining 3 abalone in 1 tbsp butter for topping.

7. Once the rice is done, top with chives and the cooked abalone. Finish with a drizzle of sesame oil.
